Rainy days

It's been awfully rainy here in "perpetually sunny" Southern California, and Simi is no exception. As I type, I can look out my window and see (and hear) the rain showering down, pitter patter on our balcony. It comes in waves... hard then soft. A drizzle and then a downpour. I'm not much of a rain-loving person and Hazel isn't much of a rain-loving doggie-- she doesn't get her walk when it's dumping buckets! (Plus, she just got groomed yesterday.) While I don't prefer to splash in puddles or walk in the rain-- though, singing could be fun-- I can appreciate the wet storm from where I sit now-- perfectly dry and content indoors. And I must say, the rain hums a lovely lullaby in the evening, offering soothing sounds to sleep to. Only problem? Then, I don't want to wake up!

To celebrate the rainy weather that is expected to last the rest of the week, here's a few pretty images I found on Etsy. Of course.

Tell me, what's your favorite thing about the rain? Do you love to splash around or would you rather stay inside like me, warm and cozy?

By the way, don't forget to enter my first-ever giveaway if you haven't already! I will announce the winner tomorrow!

It's pouring here in SF too. There was a massive thunderstorm around 5 a.m. and my dog wasn't having it. He also doesn't enjoy going outside in the rain so he's staring out the window waiting for it to stop. Hope you can have some time to curl up and enjoy a rainy day in!

I love the two umbrella pictures, all blurred by the raindrops...

Up here in British Columbia, we get a lot of rain in the winter (and the spring). My favourite thing is to curl up on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea, staying warm by the roaring fire and listening to the rain come down outside the windows. My kids and I like to watch for the little birds to rest in the bush outside the front window, keeping out of the weather and feasting on the birdseed we've left for them...

As for the giveaway, can I just say... PICK ME! ;~)

I love how rain makes nature brighter. The greens pop and the whites almost become flourescent.

Love these photos!

I enjoyed my favorite part of rain yesterday: sitting and watching it fall from the comfort of my apartment. And today I got the other side: jumping in puddles and covering my head while trying to get to work and class.

I love how rainy days make for flattering lighting to a lady's complexion. Perhaps I'm dreaming that, but it seems true!

I was just talking to my aunt/grandma the other night (who live in southern california) and they were talking about the rain, too... it's also been pretty rainy in Seattle this last week, but we're used to it :)

I love to listen to the rain if I have the possibility to sit inside and work/study/enjoy a movie/read a book :)

I also like to walk around with an umbrella cause I think it looks cute, haha :)

Rain is the BEST! Which is why I moved back home to Seattle :) I actually prefer to be warm and cozy indoors as well. But a fun rain walk is exciting too! xo
